On 11 August 2024, the Stade de France hosted the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Dicolor's UT transparent LED was the centrepiece of the staging, wrapping the show in a 337 m² see-through screen.
As around 9,000 athletes paraded in and the ceremony built through light, acrobatics, dance and live music, the UT screen carried bright, sharp visuals without closing in the set. Its transparency kept the depth and openness of the staging intact.
Lightweight enough to rig quickly and bright enough to hold its picture in a vast open-air stadium, it runs on the same transparent platform we supply here in Australia.
A transparent canvas let the audience read the staging and the imagery at once, with no solid wall boxing in the set — exactly what an in-the-round ceremony needs.
High brightness kept the picture clean and punchy for more than 70,000 people in the stadium and a worldwide television audience, even across a huge open-air venue.
The UT panels' lightweight design made installation quick and efficient — an advantage when an Olympic schedule leaves no room to run over.
When it comes to global stages like the Olympics, only the best will do — and Dicolor delivered.
